Do you love looking at homes just for the fun of it? Do you plan a road trip or take in sights spontaneously along the way? Do you seek out Home and Garden Tours? If so, I hope you will enjoy a walk through this article, which is filled mostly with beautiful homes and garden photographs.
The Garden Walk Buffalo
The Buffalo, New York, Garden Walk changed how it was viewed by introducing a program of beautifying gardens, one house at a time. Now, neighborhoods are filled with garden tourists each year in June to look and enjoy the neighborhoods. This massive self-guided garden tour allows tourists and locals alike to explore hundreds of private gardens throughout Buffalo. It’s free to participate and a fantastic way to see a wide variety of gardening styles. There are always lots of ideas!
When neighbors take care of the outer appearance of their homes, they create an atmosphere that says, “This is a safe and walkable neighborhood.” All it takes is a few people to do this to upgrade a neighborhood!
There are even Flamingoes in Buffalo! Well, we can wish. Thanks, though, to those with a playful spirit who adorned their yards with Flamingoes.
Some Buffalo homes are arranged for multiple families, with a verandah upstairs and on the main floor. Imagine a lazy Sunday afternoon sitting on the top balcony, sipping lemonade, and waiting for the BBQ meal to cook. Luxury among the flowers.
Every home is more beautiful during blossom time.
Don’t you love a large spray of white Hydrangeas? These are some of my favorite flowers. Although a gardener friend of mine told me there are over 700 varieties of Hydrangeas, after a little research, it seems there are only about 70–75 species of hydrangeas. This is a much easier number to decide which ones to plant, with only about six different types that are most commonly grown in our gardens. Endless Summer Hydrangeas come in all shapes and colors and have been bred to bloom all season.
How Can You Choose Just One Favorite Flower? I can’t! They are all so beautiful.
Just follow the teapot onto the verandah and rest yourself for a while.
Dreaming of a Garden Walk, enjoying the views on a Road Trip, or implementing some of the ideas in your own Garden… Priceless!
When I am not driving, I enjoy the views along the way. Sometimes, we get out and walk in a neighborhood admiring homes and gardens, taking a few impromptu and non-intrusive photographs. These images serve as inspiration. An appreciation for beauty and the work that people do to make their homes lovely to look at. I also try to give our home a kind of neighborhood eye appeal.
When I was out in the front weeding the garden this spring, a delivery gal briefly stopped as she got back into the truck. She commented on how lovely my tulip garden was. Of course, I was thrilled. Since the garden is close to the house, I can’t see it unless I go out to look at it specifically. Sometimes, I stand on the sidewalk and look at what others might see. It is rewarding to create something picturesque for others to see, so I replied,
“This is just so you will have something beautiful to look at on your travels.”
May you enjoy some beauty along your way today.
